PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department has issued a consumer alert for Alex's Pit Stop II-Thomas Lounge on Rosedale Street in Homewood for numerous violations.

During an inspection Wednesday, rodent droppings were found at the bar and small flies were present in the kitchen. Moldy potatoes were discovered above the three-bowl sink, which had not been sanitized and had mold in all compartments. Supposedly clean utensils that were drying had food residue and dust on them.

Slime rust and pooling water were found inside the red upright beverage cooler at the bar. In the basement, a home-style refrigerator was covered in a black, mold-like substance. In the kitchen, all shelving, counters, and equipment sides were dirty.
