Pittsburgh Marathon Weekend 2019: Road Closures Aplenty
Find out here which streets will be closed and when. Plus, a helpful guide to help you navigate around town.
PITTSBURGH, PA - It's marathon weekend in Pittsburgh and more than 35,000 people will be participating in the various weekend races. But accommodating one of the city's largest annual events will require many street closures that will make getting around town by vehicle challenging.
Here's what motorists can expect:
Friday

Initial Downtown road closures will begin at 12:00 p.m. on the Boulevard of the Allies between Wood Street and Stanwix Street. This section of the Boulevard of the Allies will remain
closed through Sunday.
Saturday

.Road closures for the UPMC Health Plan/UPMC Sports Medicine Pittsburgh 5K and Chick-fil-A Pittsburgh Kids Marathon will begin at 7:15 a.m. and continue through 12:00 p.m. in the North Side and Downtown areas.
Sunday
Road closures will start at 1:30 a.m. in the Downtown area and continue around the city through 2:30 p.m. Streets will reopen on a rolling basis once they have been deemed cleared by city officials.
Certain sections of the city will be completely closed off to traffic on Sunday. Anyone in these sections of the city who will need to leave during the race should consider parking their car outside the area.
