Pittsburgh Maulers Adopt City's Black And Gold Sports Colors
The USFL team last year had an awkward-looking orange and purplish and white uniform design. That will not be replicated this season.
PITTSBURGH, PA — The USFL's Pittsburgh Maulers have joined the city's other professional sports franchises, the Steelers, Pirates and Penguins in adopting black and gold colors. The team made the announcement Tuesday.

The USFL, owned and operated by Fox Sports, rebooted last year after three decades with eight teams. Each is a legacy of original USFL franchises.
The league last year played all of its games in Birmingham, AL. Will that be the case this year? The Detroit Free Press reported that the league has scheduled a special announcement at Ford Field - home of the NFL's Detroit Lions - on Thursday.

Fox Sports CEO Eric Shanks told the Sports Business Journal that in 2023, the league would feature the same eight teams but would be played in multiple cities - though not in all eight home sites. It's unclear if any of the Maulers home games will be played in Pittsburgh.
