Pittsburgh Movie Theater To Reopen Soon
The Manor in Squirrel Hill has made a number of coronavirus-related improvements.

PITTSBURGH, PA — While the AMC movie theater chain has publicly expressed doubts about its ability to survive the coronavirus outbreak, an independent theater in Pittsburgh is plotting its reopening. The Manor in Squirrel Hill announced on its Facebook page that it plans to resume showing movies in July.
Since its closure in March, the theater has made improvements designed to ensure the safety of patrons. Here's what moviegoers can expect in what become the standards for cinemas across the country:
- An upgraded ticketing system in which patrons can choose their specific seat when purchasing tickets online or at the box office. All seats are numbered and each aisle is lettered for easy identification.
- Plexiglass barriers at the box office, concession stand and bar.
- Foot openers installed on restroom and auditorium doors for patrons who prefer not to use the door pulls.
- Touchless restroom fixtures.
- Sanitizers throughout the theater.
There's no word yet on what movies the Manor plans to show when it reopens.
