PITTSBURGH, PA — Billed as an "edutainment destination," the Museum of Illusions will open its second Pennsylvania location in Pittsburgh on Dec. 21. The museum will be located on North Shore Drive between PNC Park and Heinz Field.
The Museum of Illusions offers more than 80 visual and educational exhibits featuring holograms, stereograms, and optical illusions. Visitors will learn about vision, perception, and the and experience firsthand the science of how the eyes can trick the mind.
Every exhibit is an interactive and immersive experience. Among the exhibits are the Vortex Tunnel, where the mind thinks that the ground is moving under your feet; the Reversed Room, which gives the illusion of defying the laws of gravity; and the Clone Room, where visitors see much more than double.

“We wanted to bring the museum to Pittsburgh because this is a city that is built on innovation,” Stacy Sec, the museum's director of sales and marketing, said in a release.
“This is the first market of this size we’ve opened in and it’s because of Pittsburghers– they have curiosity, creativity, and passion that’s unmatched. We can’t wait to introduce these exhibits, some of which will be tailored specifically for the Pittsburgh experience."
