Pittsburgh Native Interviews For Cleveland Browns Coaching Job

Mike McCarthy could be in line to become the next Cleveland Browns head coach.

CLEVELAND, OHIO - Greenfield native and former Green Bay Packers head coach is interviewing Thursday for the vacant Cleveland Browns head coaching position, the Browns announced.

McCarthy also will interview Friday with the New York Giants, according to ESPN.

McCarthy is the first person to interview for the job since the team fired Freddie Kitchens Sunday night after a 6-10 record in his only season as head coach.

McCarthy, 56, was 125-77-2 in the regular season and 10-8 in the playoffs in 13 years with the Packers before being fired in 2019. Under McCathy, the Packers appeared in the playoffs nine times, including four NFC title games, and defeated the Steelers in Super Bowl XLV.
