According to the weather service, there will be a brief lull in snowfall this afternoon but don't let that fool you. The peak window for hazardous travel is roughly 7 p.m.-2 a.m., which coincides directly with many people heading to or returning from celebrations.
Expect intense bursts during this time. The weather service wards that rapidly moving snow bands and high squall potential could drop visibility to near zero instantly.
