Where To Find Heat Relief In Pittsburgh This Hot Wednesday

Cooling centers, recreation buildings, and senior community centers are all city-run places to escape the hot weather.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Four cooling centers are open in Pittsburgh until 7 p.m. Wednesday, the city said, as a summer heat wave continues.

Today's high is 91 degrees, but the humidity and sun will make it feel much hotter. The city and parks typically activate cooling centers when forecasted highs are above 90.

All ten CitiParks recreation centers are also open into the evening on weekdays. These locations are in Ammon, Arlington, Brookline, Jefferson, Magee, Ormsby, Paulson, Phillips, Warrington, and West Penn.

The city's seven Healthy Active Living Senior Centers are open 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. on weekdays. These locations are in Beechview, Brighton Heights, Glen Hazel, Greenfield, Hazelwood, Homewood, Lawrenceville, Morningside, and Mt. Washington.
