Pittsburgh Plagued By Freezing Drizzle During Morning Rush Hour

The National Weather Service urges caution on the roads Tuesday morning because of freezing drizzle.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Monday's snow and this morning's freezing drizzle have triggered more than 200 school district delays and closings. The Pittsburgh Public Schools, the region's largest school district, is operating on a tw0-hour delay.

The National Weather Service says patchy freezing drizzle should continue to mix with light snow at times this morning, possibly triggering hazardous travel conditions on untreated roads. The weather service advises to use caution if traveling this morning, and allow extra time to reach your destination.

Winter's next punch arrives Wednesday night, bringing with it some of the coldest air of the season. Temperature values of minus-1o degrees will be possible Wednesday night and Thursday evening and the weather services says a wind chill advisory could be necessary.
