Pittsburgh Planning Special World Cup Soccer Events

PITTSBURGH, PA, – Officials on Wednesday announced the programming lineup for the Pennsylvania World Cup Fan Zone in Pittsburgh, a free, multi-day celebration that will welcome soccer fans for one-of-a-kind viewing experiences during select FIFA World Cup matches.

The events will on the North Shore will occur on 2026 matches July 4, 5, 9 and 19. They will feature all-ages programming, including live music, youth soccer clinics, family-friendly activities and interactive fan experiences. Fourth of July weekend programming will also include an America 250 festival.

Philadelphia is one of the 16 Host Cities for the FIFA World Cup 26™, hosting six matches at Lincoln Financial Field The features five group-stage games and a massive Round of 16 knockout match played on July 4, aligning with America's 250th birthday celebrations.

Fan Zones will be hosted in three Pennsylvania cities – Pittsburgh, Scranton and Reading – extending the global tournament’s energy and economic impact.

“The FIFA World Cup is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that should benefit all Pennsylvanians – that’s why my Administration is working with Philadelphia Soccer 2026 to host a free Fan Zone in Pittsburgh, giving folks in Western Pennsylvania the chance to take part in the world’s biggest sporting event,” Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro said in a statement.

“From live music to youth soccer clinics – all offered for free – the Pittsburgh Fan Zone will give Pennsylvanians an opportunity to come together and watch the world’s best players compete on the big screen. Pennsylvania is the birthplace of American democracy, and this year, every Pennsylvanian will have the chance to be part of the celebration.”

The Pittsburgh Fan Zone, hosted at Acrisure Stadium, will enable fans to gather on the field and in the stands on July 4 and 5, and in the stands on July 9 and 19, to watch broadcasts of Knockout Round matches on the stadium’s 28-by-96-foot screen.
