Pittsburgh Post-Gazette To Only Print Three Days A Week
The Pulitzer Prize-winning Post-Gazette is continuing its transition to an all-digital format.

PITTSBURGH, PA - The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, which stopped printing Tuesday and Saturday editions last August, will eliminate its printed Monday and Wednesday editions effective September 30. The paper will publish a printed edition only on Sundays, Thursdays and Fridays.
the Post-Gazette stated in a July 17 letter to Newspaper Guild of Pittsburgh President Mike
Fuoco, that the company is continuing its transition to a digital-only newspaper. The P-G also intends to stop delivering partner products such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and USA Today.
Fuoco had harsh words for the decision on Twitter.

The Blocks care nothing for journalism, our subscribers, their employees, our community. They care solely for money. Members of the @PGNewsGuild are crestfallen as millionaires ruin the 232-year legacy of the @PittsburghPG for greed. https://t.co/rm1zHMcEVH

The P-G's latest cutback adds to the growing strife and tension at the newspaper, which won a Pulitzer Prize in April for its coverage of the Tree of Life synagogue mass shooting last October.
The paper's union has been at odds with the Post-Gazette management for some time. In February, it filed unfair labor practice charges against publisher John Robinson Block. They were filed following a newsroom incident in which Block allegedly threatened to fire union leaders and other workers.

The union and the Post-Gazette's parent company, Block Communications, also have been unable to successfully negotiate a new contract for the past three years.
