Pittsburgh Public Schools To Begin Online Instruction
With schools closed indefinitely due to the coronavirus outbreak, the district is looking to resume educating students online.
PITTSBURGH, PA - With schools across the state closed indefinitely because of the coronavirus outbreak, Pittsburgh Public Schools will begin online instruction on April 16.
The region's largest school district said in a message to families that teachers will begin online instruction training on Tuesday. The district will maintain its scheduled spring break from April 6-13 and printed instructional packets will be distributed at grab and go locations on April 14 and 15.
A recent district survey found that 41 percent of families do not have access to a computer or other device to do school at home. Superintendent Anthony Hamlet said the district will educate students online and via the instructional packets.
