Pittsburgh Reporter Exiting TV Career For Religion-Related Job

A Pittsburgh TV reporter is leaving her job for a position with the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh.

PITTSBURGH, PA — KDKA-TV reporter Pam Surano is leaving the station to join the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh's communications and community relations department. Surano has been with the station for the past four years.

In her new role, Surano will do faith-based reporting for the he Pittsburgh Catholic magazine and other diocesan publications.

"This Scripture is what I was hearing inside my heart," Surano said in a Facebook post. "I feel God is directing this new path, steering me to serve in a more direct capacity."

Not to say she won't miss her KDKA.

"It’s been a privilege to work with people I now consider friends and connect with people I otherwise would have never met," she stated. "You meet so many people while covering stories from the inner city to the outermost corners of our counties. It was truly an honor to deliver the news."
