Pittsburgh Restaurant Chain Marks Notable Anniversary

PITTSBURGH, PA — It's a memorable moment for a Pittsburgh-based restaurant chain. Walnut Grill, with locations in Robinson, Wexford and Washington, is celebrating 25 years of operations.

The secret to the chain's success over the last quarter century is simple, according to founding partner Gregg Caliguiri.

"We make the mundane gourmet and accessible," he quipped.

In celebrating its 25th Anniversary, Walnut Grill will be providing October patrons with opportunities to win weekly prizes, such as professional sports tickets and cases of sirloin streaks.

The chain also will launch a featured menu with many original menu items throughout October. Corporate Chef Randy Simpson, who has spearheaded the menu design and culinary operations since 2006, said he is excited to bring back the nostalgia of the Y2K era.

Kirk Vogel, president of Walnut Grill Holdings, said the restaurants' guests and team members serve as their foundations.

“Without them, our dream would never have had a 25- year run," he said. "Our entire Walnut Grill team is extremely grateful for the overwhelming support from our guests”.

In addition to Walnut Grill, Walnut Grill Holdings has a partnership with Shady Grove restaurant, two Rival Sports Bar locations, and three Pizzaiolo Primo restaurant locations throughout the Greater Pittsburgh area.
