Pittsburgh At Risk Of Severe Storms

Find out here when the potentially severe weather will arrive Thursday.

PITTSBURGH, PA — A passing cold front could produce severe thunderstorms in Western Pennsylvania later today, according to the National Weather Service.

The largest risks from the storms could be large hail, damaging winds and even a few tornadoes.

The area has a marginal risk of severe weather, the weather service says. The storms are expected to arrive after 6 p.m.

Even after the storms subside when the cold front passes, winds will remain strong. Gusts could approach 40 mph overnight and 35 mph on Friday morning.

After a high temperature today of 56, expect more seasonal temperatures to return for the weekend. The high on Friday is predicted to be 37 and temperatures on Saturday and Sunday also aren't expected to hit 40.
