The National Weather Service says it's possible severe storms could hit the Pittsburgh area Wednesday.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Isolated severe storms are possible this afternoon and through the overnight hours in the Pittsburgh area, according to the National Weather Service.

Damaging wind gusts and hail are the main threats.

More showers and storms are expected Thursday with the passage of a cold front, bringing an end to the heat wave that should send temperatures soaring into the 90s for the third consecutive day. Tomorrow's high should only reach the low 80s. /p>
