The Famers' Almanac long-range prediction is that much of the nation is headed for a "polar coaster spring" with many days of cold temperatures.
When spring begins, the Farmers' Almanac predicts cool and unsettled weather for Western Pennsylvania.

For its early Easter forecast for March 31 in the Northeast - which includes Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and Washington D.C. - the almanac is calling for snow to the north and heavy showers to the south.
Although temperatures in the Pittsburgh area have been milder than usual during the early start to February, expect a return to winter-like temperatures in the near future. The Weather Channel is predicting highs only in the low- to mid-30s by the middle of next week.
