Pittsburgh Synagogues Checked For Safety After Online Threat Made
City police plan to maintain a presence at local synagogues following the threat.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Police checked and secured the city's synagogues Thursday after one of them received an online threat.
Pittsburgh public safety officials would not specify which synagogue received the threat nor the type of threat that was made, but noted that it appeared to be unfounded. Police appear to have a lead from an IP address.
Police will "maintain a presence" at city synagogues, officials said.

Pittsburgh was the site of the nation's worst antisemitic attack in the nation's history in 2018, when 11 people were shot to death at the Tree of Life synagogue in Squirrel Hill.
