Pittsburgh Teen Fatally Shot Man From Bed Of Truck: Police
A Pittsburgh teen has been arrested and charged with killing a man from a truck bed, according to police.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Police have arrested a teenager in connection with the deadly shooting of a Pittsburgh man.
Malachi Smith 18, is charged with criminal homicide and carrying a firearm without a license. Smith is accused of fatally shooting Isreal Walker-Young, 18, on May 31 in the city's Sheraden neighborhood.
Police went to the 600 block of Sherwood Avenue just after 10 p.m. following three ShotSpotter alerts for a total of 17 rounds. They found Walker-Young shot multiple times in the chest and leg; he later died in an area hospital.

Smith was in the rear of a pickup truck with six others Friday, according to court documents. Surveillance cameras showed Smith firing shots and then the vehicle driving away. The cameras also showed someone running into a grassy area and returning gunfire before collapsing.
Smith was arrested Monday by Violent Crime Unit detectives, with the assistance of the Fugitive Apprehension Unit, Violence Prevention Unit, and the U.S. Marshals Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force.

He faces a preliminary hearing on July 2, according to court documents.
