Pittsburgh TV News Anchor Moving On
A popular Pittsburgh TV news anchor is packing his bags and moving to another market. Get the details here.
PITTSBURGH, PA — WTAE-TV weekend anchor Tom Garris is leaving the station after three years for another broadcasting position. He will be come the weekend anchor at WMUR-TV in New Hampshire.
Both WMUR and WTAE are owned by Hearst.
Garris' last day at the station is July 24.

"I’ve loved getting your weekends started on WTAE, even if that means an alarm clock going off at 2 a.m." Garris said in a social media post announcing the move. " People here genuinely care about others, and it shows. I’ve explored awesome neighborhoods, made unforgettable memories and eaten more Primanti’s sandwiches than I care to admit."
Garris joined WTAE after three years at NBC5 in Burlington, VT/Plattsburgh NY, where he was the station's weekday morning anchor.

A Philadelphia native, Garris is an alumnus of Ithica College.
