PITTSBURGH, PA — KDKA-TV has promoted a former sports reporter to a full-time job as a news anchor and multi-skilled journalist.
Nearly two years after leaving the sports department for a part-time role in the news department, Joshua Taylor announced the move on Monday.
"This phase of my career presents me with the massive and intriguing challenge of telling the stories of my hometown, the city that made me and shaped me. I believe in what Pittsburgh has become — and what it can still evolve into," Taylor stated in a social media post.

"Now the questions I hear most these days are: “What will you be doing?” and “When will you be on?” The answers are: “Just about everything,” and “Could be anytime.” I’ll be at the anchor desk, in the field or maybe reporting from the newsroom or the studio. It could be on a weekday or a weekend, during the daytime, in the evening — or even a rare morning here or there."
According to the KDKA website, Taylor joined the KDKA sports team in 2015 after spending more than two years as the weekend sports anchor at KHBS-KHOG in Fayetteville, Arkansas. During his time there, he won two Associated Press awards for his work with the station's coverage of Arkansas Razorbacks football.
