Pittsburgh TV Weather Forecaster Announces Exit From Station

The surprising departure will occur at the end of the month.

PITTSBURGH, PA — WTAE-TV weekend meteorologist Kasey Reigner is leaving the station at the end of November.

Reigner, who has been with the station for two years, announced her impending departure Thursday on social media.

"This has been one of the toughest decisions I have ever made," she stated.

"It is with mixed emotions to announce I have decided not to renew with WTAE. My last day will be November 30th. There is nothing I love more than interacting with you through my forecasts and in person, but I am exploring new opportunities at this time."

According to her biographical page on WTAE's website, Reigner was born in Franklin PA and lived in Oil City for four years before moving to Chicago. She has a meteorology and atmospheric science degree from Penn State.

Reigner started her broadcast career in central Illinois before joining WTAE in 2021.

Reigner's departure will leave WTAE with four forecasters: Mike Harvey, Brian Hutton Jr., Ashley Dougherty and Jeff Verszyla.
