Pittsburgh Under Severe Storms Threat

PITTSBURGH, PA — The National Weather Service is predicting three rounds of showers and thunderstorms in the Pittsburgh metro area today through Wednesday morning.
A warm front moving through the area will bring isolated to scattered showers and storms late this morning into early afternoon. The primary threat will be gusty winds.
Thunderstorms also are possible this evening and overnight. This is the highest probability of severe weather, with damaging winds and small hail possible. As much as three quarters of an inch of rain is anticpated.

Additional thunderstorms are possible ahead of and along a cold front Wednesday morning through early afternoon. Expect strong wind gusts all day Wednesday.
Temperatures will rise to 62 by 10 a.m. before plummeting to around 42 for the remainder of the day. Rain will change to snow showers, but little or no accumulation is expected.
