PITTSBURGH, PA - If you can’t find what you need to spruce up your house or yard at the annual Pittsburgh Home and Garden Show, you’re being overly picky.
More than 10 acres of home and garden products and services fill the David L. Lawrence Convention Center for 10 days each March. Homeowners see what’s new, shop nearly 1,800 exhibits and get advice from thousands of home and garden experts.
Cutting edge technology and “the next big thing” are the focus of the show’s Dream Home Innovation Center. Cutting edge technology meets culinary flair in the Kitchen Idea Center. The Garden Resource Center is the place where everyone from beginner to master gardener will find the answers, help, and advice they need.

The show’s hours this weekend are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on March 2 and 3 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on March 4.

- Pittsburgh Penguins vs. New York Islanders, March 3, 5 p.m., PPG Paints Arena, Uptown.
This is the time of year where the NHL gets particularly exciting as teams jockey for playoff position during the last month of the regular season. These two Metropolitan Division rivals are sure to play a great game, with the Pens striving to win the division and the Islanders on the cusp of playoff elimination.
Penguins-Islanders tickets start at $95.
- The Bodyguard, PNC Broadway in Pittsburgh Series, March 2, 8 p.m.; March 3, 2 and 8 p.m., March 4 1 p.m., Benedum Center, Downtown.
Based on the smash hit film, the award-winning musical will star Grammy Award nominee and R&B superstar Deborah Cox. The breathtaking romantic thriller features a host of irresistible classics including “Queen of the Night,” “Saving All My Love,” “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” and one of the biggest selling songs of all time: “I Will Always Love You.”
The Bodyguard tickets start at $30.
- Shake Your Booties, The Children’s Home of Pittsburgh’s 125th Anniversary Party, March 3, 6 p.m., Heinz Field, North Shore.
The Children’s Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family Center will present its 17th annual signature gala, which last year raised more than $200,000 to support the infants, children and families served by The Children’s Home. Along with special guest Jerome Bettis, you can enjoy an evening of food, drink, and live music from Jason Kendall Productions.
Shake Your Booties tickets start at $35.
- St. Patrick’s Day Party for the Bob O’Connor Foundation, March 3, 6 p.m., Sokol Club. 2912 E. Carson St, South Side.
This 5th annual party benefits the foundation named after the late Pittsburgh mayor. Enjoy food, wine, green beer, a silent auction, 50/50 raffle and entertainment from the Burke Conroy School of Irish Dance, Cue Ball, Guaranteed Irish and the Pittsburgh Firefighters Memorial Pipe Band.
St. Patrick’s Day Party for the Bob O’Connor Foundation tickets are $40.
