Pittsburgh Wind Chills Drop Below Zero, Arctic Air Mass To Blame

If you have to be outside in Western Pennsylvania today, be sure to bundle up.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Punxsutawney Phil predicted six more weeks of winter on Thursday, and today his forecast seems spot on in Western Pennsylvania.

The current temperature in Pittsburgh is 15 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. The wind chill makes it feel like three degrees below zero.

Don't despair, however. The Arctic air mass that dropped temperatures on Thursday won't linger for long.

Temperatures are supposed to reach the mid-30s on Saturday, although wind chills still could dip below zero.

Although there will be breezy conditions on Sunday, the high will be in the mid-40s. By Tuesday, temperatures are expected to reach the mid-50s.
