Pittsburgh Winter Weather Advisory Issued

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Pittsburgh area.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Pittsburgh area and other portions of Western Pennsylvania from 1 a.m. to noon on Tuesday.

Freezing rain is expected, as well as snow accumulations up to an inch north of Interstate 80 and ice accumulations of up to a tenth of an inch.

Plan on slippery road conditions. There could be hazardous conditions for the Tuesday morning commute. The freezing rain will transition to all rain by early afternoon.

The weather services asks that snow and ice accumulations by reported by calling 412-262-1988,
posting to the NWS Pittsburgh Facebook page, or using Twitter@NWSPittsburgh.

Tuesday's expected high temperature will be around 40. Warmer weather is expected later in the week, with a high near 50 on Wednesday and a high of 54 on Thursday.
