Pittsburgh Woman Arrested After 45-Mile Police Chase

The chase on Interstate 79 involved high speeds and the use of speed sticks, police said.

PITTSBURGH, PA — A Pittsburgh woman was apprehended following a 45-mile police chase on Interstate 79 that began in Mercer County and ended in Wexford, Allegheny County.

The incident occurred on Thanksgiving, but Pennsylvania State Police didn't release information on it until Tuesday.

Police said troopers attempted to pull over a vehicle for a traffic violation in the southbound lanes of I-79. The driver refused to stop and a high-speed care chase ensured.

State police in Butler used stop sticks south of Exit 99. Although the driver hit the sticks, she continued driving on rims until exiting at Wexford and coming to a stop.

Police arrested Brandy Goodwine, 32, of Pittsburgh. She is facing charges that include DUI and fleeing and eluding.
