Pittsburgh Woman Dies In Fiery Weekend Crash

A Pittsburgh woman died over the weekend in an accident in which the vehicle caught on fire. Get the details here.

PITTSBURGH, PA — A Baldwin woman died in a fiery weekend car crash on a heavily traveled Pittsburgh bridge.

According to Pittsburgh Public Safety officials, a three-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 12:52 a.m. on Sunday.

Officers arrived with one vehicle engulfed in flames. Three people inside the vehicle on fire were pinned inside. Officers extinguished the fire and extricated a man and woman who were taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. The third passenger, a woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office identified her as Laila Makaylea Jones, 25, of Baldwin.

The driver of a second vehicle was taken to the hospital in stable condition. The driver of the third vehicle did not require hospital transport.
