Pittsburgh's Columbus Day Parade Returing
After a year's absence, the parade will be held again this year.

PITTSBURGH, PA - After a year's hiatus, Pittsburgh's traditional Columbus Day Parade is returning to Bloomfield. The event, canceled last year in the walk of the death of the event's longtime organizer, will be held Oct. 12 at 11 a.m. on Liberty Avenue.
The parade begins on Liberty at Aspen Street and ends at the reviewing stand located at Liberty and Ella.
This year’s Grand Marshal is Rich Stanizzo, former business manager of the Pittsburgh Regional Building & Construction Trades Council. The parade's organizing committe said in a relase that many local sports celebrities will participate.

Sponsored primarily by the Italians Sons and Daughters, the parade had been held in Bloomfield for 10 years.
