Pittsburgh's First Shake Shack Poised For Grand Opening

PITTSBURGH, PA — Time to shake up the Pittsburgh restaurant scene. Shake Shack will open its first Pittsburgh location on May 20 in The Terminal in the Strip District. It will be the international chain's 14th Pennsylvania location and the first to open outside of Philadelphia.

Shake Shack offers made-to-order Angus beef burgers, crispy chicken, hand-spun milkshakes, house-made lemonades, beer, wine, and more.

On opening day in the Strip, the first wave of guests can expect to receive custom totes, stickers and postcards in collaboration with locally focused gift shop, Love, Pittsburgh. Alongside the ribbon cutting at 10 a.m., the Pittsburgh Steeline will provide music and fanfare ahead of the doors opening.

Additionally, Shake Shack will donate $1 for or every sandwich sold at The Terminal Shack on May 20th to 412 Food Rescue, supporting its work to prevent good food from going to waste by redirecting it to those who are experiencing food insecurity.

Since the original Shack opened in 2004 in NYC’s Madison Square Park, the company has expanded to about 500 locations systemwide - including more than 320 in across thee country and more than 175 international locations in cities such as London, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, Mexico City and Istanbul.
