Pittsburgh's Great Race To Prompt Numerous Street Closures

PITTSBURGH, PA —The Great Race, expected to have 10,000 participants on Sunday, will result in numerous street closures throughout the city. Neighborhoods most effected will be Downtown, Uptown, Oakland and Squirrel Hill.
The Great Race – established as a 10K race by the late Mayor Richard Caliguiri – has attracted nearly a half million participants since 1977. The race has various components of various distances, including the Diaper Dash, Tot Trot, One Mile Family Fun Run,5K and 10K.

- Beechwood Boulevard to Forbes Avenue and Morewood Avenue: 8:30 a.m.-10 a.m.
- Forbes and Morewood to Fifth Avenue and Bigelow Boulevard: 8:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m.
- Fifth Avenue at Bigelow Boulevard to Robinson Street: 6:30 a.m -10:45 a.m.
- Fifth Ave at Robinson Street to Commonwealth Place and Liberty Avenue: 6:30 a.m.-11 a.m.
