Pittsburgh's Picklesburgh Picks Up Another National Honor
The annual summer pickle festival in Downtown Pittsburgh has been lauded once again by USA Today readers.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Make it three. For the third time, Picklesburgh, the annual summer festival celebrating all things pickle-related, has been voted the nation's best specialty food festival in the country by USA Today readers.
Presented by Heinz (naturally) Picklesburgh is a free annual culinary event that includes international dishes and handcrafted foods from local chefs featuring house-cured pickled vegetables; how-to demonstrations highlighting the farm-to-table movement and canning; fun pickle-themed merchandise, live music, a kids area and a competitive pickle juice drinking contest.
“We’re so grateful for the thousands of Pittsburghers who are passionate about Picklesburgh and helped us bring home another win for the City of Champions,” Jeremy Waldrup, president and CEO of the Pittsburgh Downtown partnership, said in a statement. “Pittsburgh and
Picklesburgh are inextricably linked."
