Plans Made To Mark Tree Of Life Synagogue Massacre Anniversary
Oct. 27 will mark the one-year anniversary of the slaughter of 11 Jewish worshipers.

PITTSBURGH, PA - The first-year anniversary of the Tree of Life synagogue massacre will be marked by a memorial service, Torah study sessions and community service opportunities. The anniversary events will take place Oct. 27 under the banner theme "Remember. Repair. Together."
"The theme encompasses three elements," said Rabbi Amy Bardack, head of the anniversary planning committee and director of Jewish life and learning at the Jewish Foundation.
‘Remember’ means recalling the lives that we lost and remembering the attack so that we can prevent future attacks. ‘Repair’ means both repairing emotional wounds in the community and repairing emotional wounds in the community and repairing our sense of brokenness in ourselves and in the world. 'Together' means that we wereheartened by the support we felt from the city, county, many different faith communities and diverse communities, and all over the world.
‘Together’ also means that we are not in this alone.”
