Police Fatally Shoot PA 17-Year-Old Fleeing From Traffic Stop

A witness appears to have captured the incident on video.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Police in the Pittsburgh suburb of East Pittsburgh on Tuesday shot and killed a 17-year-old who fled from a traffic stop shortly after a shooting in nearby North Braddock. A graphic video circulating on social media appears to capture the fatal incident.

Allegheny County Police Superintendent Coleman McDonough said early Wednesday that county 911 received multiple calls about a shooting in the 800 block of Kirkpatrick Avenue in North Braddock and a description of a car fleeing the scene. The victim of that shooting, a 22-year-old male, was treated and released at a local trauma center.

An East Pittsburgh police officer noticed a vehicle matching the description of the one in the shooting incident on Grandview Avenue that had ballistics damage to the rear window. The officer stopped the vehicle and was handcuffing the driver when two other occupants ran from the car. One of them, the 17-year-old, was fatally shot by police.
