Police Probing Violent Death In Pittsburgh Neighborhood

PITTSBURGH, PA — Police are investigating the death of a man who suffered significant trauma to the head and face in Bloomfield Tuesday night.

According to Pittsburgh Public Safety officials, police were dispatched to a home in the 200 block of South Aiken Avenue at around 8:25 p.m. for reports of a man who was unresponsive and bleeding from the head.

The man suffered significant blunt force trauma injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office identified him as Timothy Moran, 62.

Officers conducted a protective sweep of the residence in search of any other victims or possible suspects. The Mobile Crime Unit processed evidence at the scene.

Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating.
