Popular Downtown Pittsburgh Restaurant Changes Hands
A 14-year run encompassing two restaurants in this often-packed space is about to end.

PITTSBURGH PA - Restaurateur Yves Carreau, who last year retooled his successful Sonoma Grille on Penn Avenue downtown into the French-themed Le Lyonnias, has sold the restaurant.
The Pittsburgh Business Times reported that the AMPD Group, which operates various eateries in Pittsburgh and outside the city, has purchased the space and will open a new restaurant on the site. Among the AMPD Group’s establishments is Ten Penny, which is located across the street from Le Lyonnais.
Carreau opened the Sonoma Grille in 2004 in the ground level of the Downtown Marriott Hotel, paving the way for what has become a busy row of restaurants in the 900 block of Penn Avenue that includes Ten Penny, Sienna Mercanto, August Henry’s, Bakersfield, The Sharp Edge and Nine on Nine.
