MONROEVILLE, PA — A beloved Westmoreland County ice cream shop is expanding into Allegheny County. Tastyland, a staple along Route 66 in Greensburg since 1950, is taking over a prominent storefront near Monroeville Mall.
Tastyland announced on social media that it is opening another restaurant at the former Pro Bike + Run store at 4030 William Penn Highway.
"We are so excited to finally announce our second location in Monroeville," a post on Tastyland's Facebook page stated. "We have big plans to make it special for our community."

In addition to its cones and shakes, Tastyland is known for its smash burgers, brownies, Belgium waffles and more.
Those who want to sample the restaurant's wares, however, still will have to venture to Greensburg for the time being. Tastyland said it has to wade through 8-12 months of permits and construction before the Monroeville location opens.
