Popular Pittsburgh Music Venue To Close

Local and national bands have played there for nearly 20 years.

PITTSBURGH, PA - As a self-described "local live dive," Howlers bar in Bloomfield has been hosting live music for nearly two decades. But that will end in August when the popular local music venue closes.

Howlers has played host to a variety of local bands and minor national acts, so its closure definitely will have an impact on Pittsburgh's live music scene. But the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette,which broke the story, reports the news isn't all bad: Howlers owner Susan Coe wants to open another music venue in the city's East End.
