Popular Pittsburgh Radio Host Takes Medical Leave Of Absence

The veteran radio presence recently suffered a stroke.

PITTSBURGH, PA - KDKA-AM radio personality Mike Pintek announced Wednesday he is taking a leave of absence from his afternoon talk show to concentrate on his battle with inoperable pancreatic cancer.

“At this point, I need to take some time and really focus on my health,” he said in a release on the station website.

Pintek disclosed that he also is recuperating from a recent stroke and plans to return to chemotherapy when his rehabilitation is complete.

Pintek has been with KDKA in various roles for more than three decades. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in May of 2017.
