Popular Pittsburgh Restaurant Closing For Good
B52, an often-packed Lawrenceville restaurant, is shutting its doors.
PITTSBURGH, PA — After a six-year run, B52 on Butler Street in Lawrenceville will close permanently on Sunday. Owner and chef Omar Abuhejleh made the announcement on the vegan restaurant's Instagram page.
Citing the recent death of his mother and him recently turning 50, Abuhejleh said he has been hit "with a big dose of mortality. Now more than ever, I feel the passing of time, and I’m living with the sense of its preciousness and uncertainty."
Abuhejleh's other city eatery, Allegro Hearth in Squirrel Hill, will remain open.

"I still have the energy to run one business, and I’ve decided that I enjoy the pace of a baker’s
life more than that of a cook’s life," he said.
There's no immediate inkling of what might occupy the B52 location in the future.
