Popular Pittsburgh Restaurant Shutting Its Doors
Find out here why the eatery is going out of business.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Another mainstay Oakland restaurant is shutting its doors for good.
After more than two decades in business, Fuel And Fuddle on Oakland Avenue in the heart of the University of Pittsburgh campus will permanently close later this month.
"Our lease is up, and the rent, and just about everything else, has become too much for us," owner Brandon Smith announced Wednesday on social media.

"I just wanted to thank everyone for all the years of laughs and hugs and tips and shots. Assuming we have enough staff, our last day will be Friday May 26th. So stop by one last time for a smashed potato pizza or a Cajun Rosy or some kick-gas nachos or a beer or bourbon."
Fuel and Fuddle becomes the latest long-running Oakland eatery to close over the past several years. The Original Hot Dog Shop on Forbes Avenue was shuttered in April 2020, while the original Mad Mexon Atwood Street went under last fall.
