PITTSBURGH, PA — Larrimors, a Downtown Pittsburgh family-owned designer clothing store that has been in business for nearly nine decades, is going out of business.

“This decision marks the end of an important chapter for our family, but we are incredibly grateful for the customers,
employees, designers and community members who have made Larrimor's what it is today. We hope this final sale gives our customers an opportunity to find something special while also giving us a chance to say thank you.”
Everything in the store is included in the sale, with no exclusions. New fall and winter merchandise still arriving will go directly to the sale floor. All store fixtures are also for sale.

All sales are final.
“We have been honored to help dress so many Pittsburgh families, often three generations of the same family,” said Lisa Slesinger, co-owner of Larrimor's. “The selection will never be better than it is on opening day, and we hope our customers will come find something they will enjoy for years to come.”
According to the Larrimors website, Harry Slesinger and Larry Morris launched the store in a 1,000-square-foot, one-level storefront in Pittsburgh's Union Trust Building in 1939.
Ongoing expansion in that space prompted Larrimors to open a new Downtown location at Grant Street and Fifth Avenue in the 1980s. In 1992, a second Larrimors opened at The Galleria at Mt. Lebanon; it would stay in business for more than 20 years.
After 70 years in the Union Trust Building, Larrimor’s moved to its current PNC Plaza home in 2010. The custom-built space is 13 times larger than the original 1939 location.
