BRIDGEWATER, PA — Bigham Tavern, an award-winning Mt. Washington staple for more than a decade that has garnered national attention for its food, is opening a new riverfront location this summer in Beaver County.

Bigham Tavern at Bridgewater will be located along the Beaver River, and the bar's owners promise a serene and laid-back atmosphere. The same signature fare that has gotten the bar featured on the Food Network's s "Food Paradise: Cheat Day" will be offered, but the Bridgewater location also will serve hand-tossed pizzas.

The Bridgewater location also will have a riverside tiki bar, according to Jessica Rewis, one of the bar's four co-owners.

Rewis said she and her partners - Terry Malsch, Joseph Rewis and Bradley Yoder - had been looking for a place to expand the Bigham brand for years but were holding out for a location that "felt just right."

"We know that Beaver County is the best spot to duplicate this," she said. "It's a tight-knit community that shows strong support for their local businesses."

Rewis said the new restaurant is expected to open in June, 11 years after the Bigham Tavern first debuted. She promised the Bridgewater location will have the same vibe as the Mt. Washington bar.

"It's Bigham Tavern on vacation," she said.
