Popular Pittsburgh Tavern Files For Bankruptcy
After more than two decades in operation, this Pittsburgh bar's future appears to be murky.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Piper's Pub gained a reputation over the years as being the perfect place to watch soccer on TV. But forget about watching any World Cup matches there this year, as the bar on East Carson Street in the city's South Side has filed for bankruptcy.
The pub filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in U.S. Bankruptcy Court on Monday, the Pittsburgh Business Times reported.
Known for offering a taste of the British Isles on its menu, Piper's Pub has been a staple in the ever-fluctuating Carson Street bar scene since 1999. It closed in May 2021 during the pandemic and has yet to reopen, although a Facebook post in August indicated the bar was hiring employees.
