Popular Pittsburgh TV Reporter Leaving Station
A veteran TV reporter is departing the station next week.

PITTSBURGH, PA — WTAE-TV Westmoreland County reporter Jim Madalinsky is leaving the station next week and apparently is leaving broadcasting career as well.
Madalinsky announced his impending departure on social media.
"I had hoped to spend the rest of my career (at WTAE-TV), but sometimes life has different plans," he stated. "After 15 years in television news, I’ve decided now is the right time to step away and take on a new challenge."

According to his biography on WTAE's website, Madalinksy was raised in North Fayette and graduated from Kent State University.
He has worked in both news and sports with stops in North Dakota, South Dakota and New York. In 2017, he won an Associated Press award for his reporting.
