Portion Of Parkway East To Completely Close For Days

Find out here where and when the closure will occur.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Many people won’t be working during Christmas week, but the effects of this road project still are bound to cause significant traffic tie-ups. PennDOT will close the inbound Parkway East completely between the Boulevard of the Allies off-ramp and the Grant Street on-ramp from 6 a.m. on Dec. 26 through 11 a.m. Dec. 30.

PennDOT spokesman Steve Cowan said crews will conduct roadway reconstruction work between the Allegheny County Jail and the Grant Street interchange, and they may replace bridge dams on the bridge at the jail and also near the Birmingham Bridge.

PennDOT plans to provide more information on the closure later on Wednesday.
