Recalling Tom Petty's Final Pittsburgh Appearance
The veteran rocker, who died Monday, performed at PPG Paints Arena in June.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Less than four months after a rousing concert in Pittsburgh, legendary rock star Tom Petty died unexpectedly Monday after suffering a heart attack. He was 66.
“On behalf of the Tom Petty family we are devastated to announce the untimely death of of our father, husband, brother, leader and friend Tom Petty,” longtime Petty manager Tony Dimitiades said in a statement.
”He suffered cardiac arrest at his home in Malibu in the early hours of this morning and was taken to UCLA Medical Center but could not be revived. He died peacefully at 8:40 p.m. PT surrounded by family, his bandmates and friends.”

Petty and his band, the Heartbreakers, brought their 40th anniversary tour to PPG Paints Arena on June 9. The 19-song set included classics such as "Refugee," "Don't Come Around Here No More," "Runnin' Down A Dream" and "I Won't Back Down."
