PENNSYLVANIA — Rita's Italian Ice traditionally opens for the spring season by offering patrons a free treat. This year, that treat could have a Keystone State flair.
On Friday, the first day of spring, Rita's is giving away a free six-ounce Italian Ice as it debuts a Peeps-brand flavor. The marshmallow treats have been produced in Bethlehem for decades.
The free Italian Ice giveaway is available at all of the more than 600 locations nationwide. In a release, Rita's said it expect to serve approximately a million cups of its icy desserts during this annual spring tradition.
