Rivertowne Brewing Files For Bankruptcy

PITTSBURGH, PA - Rivertowne Brewing, which operates four bars and restaurants and a brewery in in southwestern Pennsylvania, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in U.S. Bankruptcy Court. All of the locations are expected to remain open during bankruptcy reorganization.

In the bankruptcy filing, the company listed assets of between $100,000 and $500,000 and liabilities between $1 million and $10 million.

The company had its origins in Verona with the Rivertowne Inn in 2002. Locations since have opened in North Huntingdon, Monroeville and the North Shore. The company opened a brewery in Export in 2012 that enabled it to produce and package its beers in quantities large enough for distribution throughout the east coast.
