Sandcastle To Reopen Tuesday
The West Homestead water park has been closed for the past week to clean up after flash flooding.

PITTSBURGH, PA - After being closed for a week to clean up from flash flood damage, Sandcastle water park in West Homestead finally will reopen on Tuesday. The park’s hours will be 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The park has been shut down since July 31 after most of the park’s lower level was submerged by the Monongahela River, which exceeded its banks after heavy rains. Workers spent the week cleaning up the mud and debris the flooding produced.
The Lazy River will not be open on Tuesday, but all other attractions are expected to be operational. “Our team has worked extremely hard and we appreciate all of your support, patience and understanding,” a post on the park’s Facebook page stated. “See you soon.”
